I offer consultation to individuals, couples, and larger family or work groups. A consultation is typically sought when an individual or group has questions of a psychological, emotional, or interactional nature. Consultations can be about oneself or about a family member, partner, colleague, or work group. Consultation typically involves a short-term focus on a particular issue or question, whereas psychotherapy involves ongoing work with the focus being on the patient(s).
Typical consultation issues might include:
• concern about a loved one & seeking advice about how to approach the issue and the individual
• addressing problematic relationships in a family or work group
• general questions about psychotherapy
• resolving conflicts
• increasing workplace morale & productivity
Even if you do not see your particular issue or circumstance listed above, I encourage you to give me a call to discuss your consultation needs and goals. If I am not the best person to help with your situation I will always try to make an appropriate referral.
